News: Everyone say a big hello to.....
Harmy!!!! (Harmony: Mercy has already nicknamed her :-P)
About a month ago we welcomed our second beautiful blue-eyed baby girl! None of our family was able to be there, so two wonderful ladies from our church were with us during the delivery. They were fantastic! I highly recommend having a former pediatric nurse with you when you give birth. It's nice to have someone who knows EXACTLY what is going on and will tell you! hehehe.
Daddy was great!
He is such a rock and stayed calm and cool during the whole thing.
My first moments with my girl!
"I'm a big sister!"
Be sure to check out our family blog for updates!
Weight loss: a huge disappointment.
When I was pregnant with my first daughter I gained 20 pounds. Almost immediately after she was was born I dropped 30 pounds; that brought me 10 pounds below my pre-preggo weight! I was elated and fully expecting the same thing this time around. But this time I only gained 15 pounds, so I thought I would drop at least 10, maybe 15 pounds below my pre-preggo weight!
Well, I was not so lucky this time. This time I dropped 6 pounds before coming home from the hospital. That's not even the weight of the baby! I couldn't believe it. How could I give birth to an almost 8 pound baby and only lose 6 pounds? But over the course of the week some swelling went down, fluids came off and I dropped the rest of the 15 pounds. That brought me to my pre-preggo weight...
Has anyone else been disappointed after the baby was born and didn't lose as much as they thought they would?
Tomorrow: my healthy eating plan and my re-evaluated goals.

OH my gosh.. she is adorable!! Big congrats to you and your family!
I am glad to see you on here.. I've been thinking about you. :)
Sorry you didn't lose as much as you would have liked... I hope you get the go ahead to exercise after your appointment.
I lost a lot after my monkey was born, but I also suffered from Post-Partum depression, so not the best way to lose. Just be good to yourself and be healhty.. the loss will come. :)
Thank you Jacqui! I'm glad you came through the post-partum okay. I didn't have any of that, but I've heard it can be a real struggle. I'm working on a new set of goals that I'll be posting. I'm going to focus on small steps in order to achieve the big picture.
Congratulations! She is beautiful.
Such beautiful children.
Good luck on your weight loss!

She's so beautiful congrats on that wonderful little miracle.
And yes to pretty much everything else, daughter born, maybe lost 10 or 20 but I stayed at my highest weight until she was almost 3. I took the long way around but it worked out in the end. Weight loss isn't a straight line on the best days, hang in there.
I had twins and gained 60lbs. I lost 30lbs within six weeks and there I stayed for the next six weeks. And I was nursing for the Olympics! I started walking when the boys were 4 months old and then it was a slow 1/2 pounds. I ended up 15 pounds below my pre-pregnancy weight, the lowest I'd been since my teens. Don't rush it, you're body has more important things to do right now. Exercise gently or your body will be too stressed and hold on to the weight.
Thank you so much for the encouragement ladies! Things are starting to look up!
