As I posted last week, my husband and I went away for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary! 8 fantastic years! He told me he had a surprise, but I wouldn't let him tell me what it was. I love good surprises, but he has a bad habit of letting the cat out of the bag beforehand. Turns out this was a really good surprise!
The first movie we ever watched together was at my 22nd birthday. It was Alfred Hitchcock's "39 Steps." I love Alfred Hitchcock! I also love the theater.
Well this weekend, my husband took me to see "the 39 steps" performed on stage! It was HILARIOUS! WE both laughed, and I laughed so hard I got teary eyed a few times! The cool thing was that the whole play was performed by only 4 actors! They did an amazing job, and we had a great time.
Then we went up to the cabin and spent 2 restful nights away from kids and work. We didn't even get cell reception up there, so there were no distractions!
But, as I said, I did not diet. I didn't think about calorie counting or liquid meals. We went out to eat twice (Italian the first night and Logan's Roadhouse on the way home Sunday). Today I've been trying to get back on track, but we're still eating up the sandwich fixin's, so I haven't gone back to liquid yet.
Tomorrow I plan to pick up on my detox diet and complete the last 2 weeks of it without a break. We have been given a lot of squash and cucumber, so if anyone knows some good soup or smoothie recipes that use summer squash, zucchini, or cucumber PLEASE let me know!
My fantastic weekend is over, and my daughter decided to welcome me home by getting sick last night. She woke up close to midnight vomiting like crazy and running a temperature of 101.5. This went on for about an hour.
The temperature started to go down after some Tylenol, but the vomiting didn't stop till her little tummy was empty. She fell asleep next to me on the couch while we were watching Barney at 1:30am, so I just left her and slept next to her. She woke up a few more times throughout the night, but we haven't had any more puking episodes. Hopefully it was just something she ate, and we're passed it.
It's about time to get her ready for bed, so I'll sign off. Hope everyone had a great weekend!
