Last weekend was wonderful. We saw a wonderful play. We went to see "39 Steps" at the Barter Theater in Virginia. It was Awesome! Here's the Youtube ad.
If you are in the area, I highly recommend it!
We got some much needed wonderful rest at a lovely cabin in the mountains and had a wonderful time driving around the mountains.
And of course, we ate a LOT of wonderful food! Hubby took me to an Italian restaurant on Friday night. I snacked on cookies, chips, and dark chocolate all weekend. I had coffee every day! And we ate at Logan's Roadhouse on the way home.
Therefore, my weigh in this week was not so wonderful. I didn't lose any weight, due to my wonderful getaway weekend. So this week I've been trying to get back on track.I probably should have started my 21 days of detox after the anniversary, so I'm restarting it as of yesterday. Today is day 2.
Detox Day 2:
Breakfast: Blueberry and cucumber shake
Lunch: Not sure yet. It has to be items from the elimination diet, and I don't know what that will be yet.
Dinner: Squash soup
Previous weight: 260
Current weight: 260
Weight lost: -0
Couch to 5K
A whole bunch of people have been going on about Couch to 5K. It is a great program, but let's get one thing straight. THIS CONCEPT IS NOT NEW!! This principle has been around for ages, and casual runners have been using it for a long time. C25K is just a catchy name on an old concept trainers have been using for years. They didn't invent it, and it's not the first place I've heard it.I personally have to give the credit for hearing about this type of running plan from one of my Resident Assistants when I attended Word of Life Bible Institute in 2001. She ran all the time, and I wanted to start. So I went to her for advice. She told me that when she was in high school she struggled with her weight, and decided to start running to help control it.
When she first started she couldn't run very well, so her mother told her alternate running and walking and gradually increase the amount of running time while decreasing the amount of walking time. Same concept as C25K.
This morning I started. I'll be walking 3 days a week. Today marked the beginning of week 1.

Happy anniversary! Yummmm dark chocolate sounds so good right now. I've been off sugar for 10 days now (I am the person who eats one piece and then has to eat the whole bag of candy... I am certainly not the person who can eat one piece and call it a day...so I am cutting it out completely). So yeah, DARK CHOCOLATE *me, salivating*. Anyway, congratulations on not gaining weight this week! Seriously, that's great!
LOL! I'm not a big fan of dark chocolate, so it's not hard for me to just eat a little bit of it. But this week I'm not even getting any of that. I'm trying to snack more on fruit and nuts.
